Attention Moms: Health Canada Alert..

I read this on a message board I belong too.
It says that three babies have drown in the tub while sitting in one of these seats or rings. Well, their parents stepped away from the tub briefly. Don't step away EVER while bathing your child!
What are you supposed to use to bathe your child when they can sit up by themselves? Personally, I'm still going to be using the seat we have. I never leave Mason unattended in the tub.

I read something along those lines in the Consumer Reports guide we have. It doesn't recommend those bath rings/seats at all because of the fact that people walk away when their baby is in it.

That hasn't stopped us from using our little bath ring. We only bathe Garrett when there are two of us around though. Frankly, if the phone rings and I can't get to it because Garrett's in the tub, well, that's what answering machines are for. I sit there next to the tub till it's time to get Garrett out and then I call Julie as she is the designated dryer.

Just be vigilant and don't leave Mason (or any other baby) unattended in the water. Those rings are fine, so long as you remember that the baby is more important than the phone.

I took Mason in with me in the shower once or twice before, but we don't do the family tub. We just don't find it very appealing.
